Courage was a rare show that actually embraced how unsettling early/low-budget CGI could be, turning a generic mummy with silly clown hair into an otherworldly nightmare that mentally scarred a whole generation of kids (and probably some grown adults too) by just standing there.
Naturally, 2D fanart ruins the effect. Alas.

I feel like one of the things that makes this guy so memorable (besides his terrifying animation), was the fact that he was one of those villains who managed a perfect balance of terrifying and hilarious. His design and voice were horrifying, with his animation more or less turning him into a Lovecraftian terror of a mummy that looks so incredibly...wrong, compared to everything else. But then there's the fact that one of his plagues was nothing more than an incredibly loud and annoying record player and when Courage foils one of them, all he can respond with is a deadpan "Aw c'mon!"
