Lerdethak by Monster-Man-08 Lerdethak by Monster-Man-08
The Lerdethak is one of several bio-engineered monsters hailing from "Father Deep", the blue mists in the valleys of the Hork-Bajir homeworld, created by the Arn to keep the Hork-Bajir away from them. It attacks with bullwhip-like tentacles, and has a pouch in it's throat for storing food/prey. It is unclear if the Lerdethak is a species or a one-of-a-kind individual.

The parasitic Yeerks later conquered the Hork-Bajir homeworld, and the Yeerk known as Visser Three acquired the Lerdethak (and likely the other monsters of Father Deep) as one of many "battle morphs." Later still the Visser would use this morph in a fight against the Animorphs. A fight in which both sides destroyed -yet paradoxically saved- each other...

So I just got through looking through your entire gallery for Animorphs. Interesting lords and aliens but some of the aliens were kind of ridiculous and not very imaginative ( I was thinking mostly of the ant race and the crab race ) but what do you expect from a writer back in the 90s. It's a darn shame I'm unable to read these books because of my dyslexia ( in case you're wondering I'm using Dragon NaturallySpeaking and text-to-speech to write and read this ) and I saw just a handful of the TV show episodes. But the real tragedy is that the books were never finished and the TV show lasted 26 episodes. I tried looking up why the writer never finished them I couldn't really find anything and I don't want to look that hard for it, maybe because of sales but she was 54 books in so who knows maybe she intended the cliffhanger. another sad things is they tried updating the books and republishes them but they stopped at book 8 because of I'm quoting Wikipedia dismal sales. She could still technically finish it like releasing it as an e-book that could possibly be free or if she was really ambitious she could start a kickstart to make an animated series based off of animorphs that could  probably work. But I doubt it considering it's been 15 years, so I guess animorphs will just be a relic of the 90s and books passed down through the generations

Added.
I'm tempted to just write those books off as "don't count", but I'm including Transformer toys and the B'heeon from that very same book, so I can't really make that claim.

It was a joke. Some truth behind it:

-The Alternamorphs novels weren't particularly well-received, and were basically a dead-end.

-They are non-canon.

-They (like many Animorphs novels) weren't written by Applegate.

Alternamorphs novels are a bit like other Animorphs paraphernalia, like the television show and toys. They are "game books", more product tie-in than a part of the continuity proper.

Really? who knew. Last I checked they were in the morphography book list thing on the website (before it got revamped). I kinda see where you're going though and I agree. I'll still put them in my collection with the others bar the four I'm missing.
