Physiology: Ikame-tajis are amphibious quadrupeds about the size of a large dog. Their narrow, blade-shaped heads are covered in a bony, serrated crest, are lined by two spiny fins, and end in a mass of long tentacles. They have six eyes, with a row of rigid spines along their brows. They have turtle-like shells, covered in a thick, leathery material, as well as six thick, upright tentacles along the shoulders. They use their thickly armored, lobster-like tails to carry their eggs, depositing them as they travel. Their long, chitinous legs are lined with bristly spines, and they end in thick, hoof-like feet. They can squirt a mildly acidic ink at their foes to distract and blind them, goring them with their sharp head crest.

Behavior: Ikame-tajis are typically docile unless attacked. They travel in small groups of 4-8 adults. They are almost always found in or near water, roaming the seafloor or river banks, eating decayed plant and animal matter. Some settlements near the eastern coast of Shariaku domesticate them and farm them for their sweet, succulent meat and leathery shells. They do not care for their eggs or young, but reproduce in quickly and in large numbers.
