The notion that humans couldn't possible accomplish anything without aliens always made me laugh and ponder the logical extreme, but to be perfectly blunt, this was mostly an excuse to use the string and the twin-firebrain aliens in something.

Extreme how? Why not, when human cultures always borrow and borrow ideas? Perfect sense to me, minus "Ocham's razor" of course. More funny comics would be awesome.
Oh and this reminds me a little of the old version of "The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy".
